My CSW Experience
There are a lot of benefits of CSW, from the tangible business applications you learn to the friendships you make. Plus its just a fun week where you get to really experience Cincinnati from the food to the events. And of course you learn a ton about P&G, the culture, and the work to really help you see if this is the place for you.
What did you find most valuable about attending the CSW Workshop?
I was really impressed by the level of passion that the people we met had. It was truly inspiring to see how much people really loved their jobs and much ownership they felt for their projects.
What did you learn from attending CSW?
I learned a lot the week I was at CSW, not only about P&G and CMK, but key skills any college students needs. This included working through complex business questions, the basics of quant/qual research, etc.
How did summer camp help shape your decision to join P&G for an internship following the camp, and eventually full time?
I had heard of market research before but based on what I had heard in college had just thought this meant people who ran surveys and focus groups, but that all changed when I went to the CSW camp. I really began to understand what CMK was all about and the strategic impact it has on the business, it really is the cornerstone function. It fit perfectly with what I was doing in school (psychology major was about really understanding people, marketing major was about how to reach people).
Lana’s advice for you:
I would recommend applying for this camp! I think you will be pleasantly surprised by all that you will learn about CMK, P&G, and Cincinnati! It really is a lot of fun and different than any other case studies or orientations I have been to. You get the chance to impact the business working on real business questions and interact with people who genuinely want you to succeed.
P&G cares about their people and their success. You will be given the chance to have the autonomy and ownership to shape the business in ways you never thought possible. At the same time there are great people you get to work with across the functions and high levels of support and training to jump start your career in the corporate world.
