My CSW Experience:
The Consumer Strategy Workshop is a multi-day blend of work and play. You will learn how P&G analyzes consumer issues, network with students from other universities, and experience the highlights of Cincinnati.
What did you find most valuable about attending the CSW Workshop?
The most impressive part of the workshop to me was definitely the high level of interaction and engagement with company leadership—from learning how P&G does data analysis to eating lunch with the CEO, I couldn’t believe how interested people were in talking to us about P&G and CMK. At the end of the workshop, you even have the opportunity to present your own analysis of a consumer issue to Consumer and Market Knowledge management and receive feedback on your work.
What did you learn from attending CSW?
The greatest thing I learned from attending the workshop is that work can be fun: working on an interesting, engaging project with people that want to both teach you and learn from your fresh perspective made a job at P&G seem totally exciting. When I had the opportunity to return for an internship doing similar work with students I already knew from the previous summer, the decision was a no-brainer. Retuning full-time to a job I can’t wait to do is even more exciting because I’m coming back with friends I made two years ago at the workshop!
Jay’s advice for you:
I would recommend to any potential applicants that you dedicate some time to filling out your application. The summer camp is both a fun experience and a chance to start building post-graduate opportunities already in the summer after your sophomore year. The payoff was huge for me because I was able to go back to school junior year with an internship already, and senior year with a job already.
To anyone wondering “Why P&G,” I would respond that Procter and Gamble is not a place that you can leave empty-handed. It’s an incredible learning environment and the people around you will devote so much to your growth that you can’t avoid picking up better ways to attack problems and communicate with people. The people make the place at P&G and they will welcome you to their world more than you can imagine.
